Kaho - The First Village Of India

Kaho village, often called India’s easternmost inhabited village, rests gently near the Indo Tibet border. Small in size yet immense in significance, Kaho is defined by its peace, prayer flags, and resilient inhabitants who face long winters and isolation with quiet dignity. Here, sunrise feels symbolic, as the first light of the country touches its hills. Kaho is less a destination and more an experience of presence, patience and the calm strength of life at the edge.

Kibithu - The Valley Center

Kibithu, perched on the far eastern frontier of India in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district, is one of the country's easternmost inhabited locations and a vantage point of immense strategic and scenic significance. Overlooking deep gorges, forested ridgelines and the swift blue Lohit River, Kibithu offers sweeping Himalayan views that glow brilliantly at sunrise. It holds the distinction of being one of the easternmost permanently inhabited towns in the country, situated along the China border.

People - Living Landscape

Beyond its frontier setting, Kibithu is a living Meyor village where everyday life unfolds through close-knit households, shared traditions and a deep connection to the landscape. Religious spaces serve as centres of worship and community gatherings, while children follow quiet village paths to school each day. Cultivated fields along the hillsides reflect generations of agricultural knowledge, with farming remaining an important part of local livelihoods.
